What FOS ICON is and what we build with it
FOS ICON is a series of modular LED screens made by FOS Technologies. A screen is built from 500 × 500 mm cabinets, and each cabinet from four 250 × 250 mm modules. This lets you build an LED wall to size, in 0.5 m steps, in one of three pixel pitches: 2.6, 2.9 or 3.9 mm. All models share the same frame, beam and flight case.
We sell to businesses and integrators on a VAT invoice: a complete set, not just panels. That means a model matched to viewing distance, a NovaStar processor, structure, power and flight cases, plus installation, calibration and service. This is an offer to buy and own; we do not rent screens for one-off events here. You can work out the size and an indicative price in a minute in the free LED configurator.
Three cabinets: ICON 2.6, ICON 2.9 Hybrid and ICON 3.9 IP
They differ in pixel pitch, brightness and weather resistance. Everything else is shared, so the structure, flight cases and service look the same whichever pitch you choose.
| Model | Pitch | Where it works | Brightness | Nearest viewer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ICON 2.6 | 2.6 mm | indoor only | 800 nits | from 3 m |
| ICON 2.9 Hybrid IP65 | 2.9 mm | indoor and outdoor, IP65 | 4,000 nits (indoor mode up to 1,000 nits) | approx. 3 m |
| ICON 3.9 IP | 3.9 mm | outdoor and indoor, IP65 | 4,500 nits | from 4 m |
ICON 2.9 Hybrid combines IP65 and 4,000 nits with an indoor mode (brightness adjustable up to 1,000 nits) and a 7,680 Hz refresh rate. Price on request.
Common to the whole series: a 500 × 500 × 83 mm, 8 kg die-cast aluminium cabinet, front service access, modules held by screws and magnets, the power supply, receiving card and HUB card in one replaceable “power box”, corners with rotating protectors, and cabinet joints angled from −5° to +5° in 2.5° steps.

We start with the distance to the nearest viewer, because it sets the pixel pitch. The manufacturer recommends from 3 m for ICON 2.6 and from 4 m for ICON 3.9; for ICON 2.9 we assume about 3 m. The further away the viewer, the coarser (and therefore cheaper) the pitch you need (the maths: how to choose LED pixel pitch). The second question is light and weather.
- Conference room, hotel, showroom: ICON 2.6, 800 nits, indoor only. LED screen for conference rooms and hotels.
- Shop window: 4,000–4,500 nits (ICON 2.9 Hybrid, ICON 3.9 IP) copes with daylight behind the glass. LED screen for a shop window.
- Outdoor and advertising screen: ICON 3.9 IP, IP65, 4,500 nits. Outdoor advertising LED screen.
- Stage, events, trade fairs (purchase for event companies): ICON 2.6 or ICON 2.9 Hybrid in flight cases of 8 cabinets. Stage LED screen.
- Church, large halls and venues: viewers are far away, so ICON 3.9 IP or ICON 2.9 Hybrid is enough. LED screen for a church.
Outdoors you choose between ICON 3.9 IP and ICON 2.9 Hybrid (both IP65); ICON 2.6 is for indoor use only. The series operates from −20 to +40 °C. No need to guess: the configurator picks the model from the viewing distance and installation site, and also works out the cabinets, weight, power and processor.
LED screen processors: NovaStar VX600 Pro and VX1000 Pro
The cabinets receive the picture from a video processor. In the ICON series these are the NovaStar VX600 Pro and VX1000 Pro, listed in the VEX catalogue as Icon VX600 PRO and Icon VX1000 PRO. They take the signal from a laptop, media player or AV system via HDMI 2.0 or 3G-SDI, and play content from a USB 3.0 flash drive without a computer.
| Parameter | VX600 Pro | VX1000 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Ethernet output ports (Gigabit) | 6 | 10 |
| Max. pixel count | 3.9 million | 6.5 million |
| Approx. ICON 2.6 | up to 25.5 m² (102 cabinets) | up to 42.5 m² (170 cabinets) |
| Approx. ICON 2.9 Hybrid | up to 34.5 m² | up to 57.5 m² |
| Approx. ICON 3.9 IP | up to 58.5 m² | up to 97.5 m² |
Both models have the same inputs, port backup and up to 256 presets, as well as CE and RoHS certificates. The areas in the table follow from the NovaStar port limit (650,000 pixels per port); we confirm the cabling layout and mapping in the project. Selection and set-up: NovaStar LED screen processor.
Accessories and structures: flight cases, beams, clamps, stands
An ICON screen is the cabinets plus everything that carries, powers and transports them. We select all of it in the project, and you will find every item in the LED screen catalogue:
- Icon Flight Case: a wheeled case for 8 cabinets, i.e. 2 m² of screen. FOS ships screens only in flight cases and in multiples of 8 cabinets.
- Icon Hanging Beam PRO: a 0.5 m beam for hanging and ground-stacking the screen. The FOS manual allows a maximum of 20 cabinets in a vertical column (10 m); a hung screen always gets a safety cable.
- ICON Led Clamp: a quick-lock clamp for a pipe or truss with a diameter of 42–58 mm.
- FOS LWS-2m, LWS-3m and LWS-4m stands: a structure for a floor-standing screen. They are completed with a base with stabilisers and a counterweight; the weights are bought separately. We select the structure and ballast after the site survey.
A free-standing stack of cabinets is unstable, so a floor-standing screen always gets a structure with a counterweight. Already have an ICON screen? We can add a processor, flight cases, beams and clamps. Complete-set prices per m² (cabinets, structure, power, processor, flight cases) and seven sample quotes are in the guide How much does an LED screen cost?.
How we deliver a screen: made to order, not off the shelf
We order the screen from the manufacturer for a specific project, so you get a size, pitch and structure calculated for your interior or site. Dimensions grow in 0.5 m steps, cabinets ship in flight cases of 8 (2 m²), and every set includes a 5% spare (minimum 2 cabinets, topped up to a full case of 8), so one faulty cabinet does not stop the screen.
- 1. Enquiry. Price the screen in the configurator or send a B2B enquiry with the dimensions, location and viewing distance. We call back within one business day.
- 2. Site survey: 600 PLN net. We measure the site and check the structure and power points. The fee is credited towards the project.
- 3. Design and offer. Model, processor, structure, power and cabling in one net quote.
- 4. Order and delivery. We order the cabinets from the manufacturer and deliver the finished set in Warsaw and across Poland. The lead time is stated in the offer.
- 5. Installation and commissioning: from 3,800 PLN net. We set up, connect, calibrate colour and brightness across the cabinets and hand over a working screen.
Example: 6 × 3.5 m on ICON 3.9 IP; change the size and distance in the configurator.

Installation. The manufacturer requires the screen to be installed by qualified technicians and recommends an inspection at least once a year. We do both: installation with colour and brightness calibration starts from 3,800 PLN net, and inspections are part of the Priority and Managed support packages. We deliver projects in Warsaw and across Poland: LED screen installation.
Power. We design for maximum power, not average: 450 W per m² for ICON 2.6 and 600 W per m² for ICON 2.9 Hybrid and ICON 3.9 IP. The cabinets run on 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz, require earthing (resistance below 4 Ω) and about 15 cm of free space from the wall for cooling. Data runs over Ethernet cable up to 120 m, and beyond that over fibre.
Service. The cabinet opens from the front, the modules are held by screws and magnets, and we replace a single module without dismantling the whole screen. The manufacturer gives a 2-year (24-month) warranty, and after installation you can choose a Standard, Priority or Managed support package. Parts and repairs: LED screen service in Warsaw.
