Short answer: which LED screen for outdoors
For an outdoor advertising LED screen, whether you call it a big screen or an LED billboard, you buy a complete system from us: FOS ICON 3.9 IP cabinets (IP65, 4,500 nits, 3.9 mm pitch), structure, power, a NovaStar processor and flight cases. We install and service it in Warsaw and across Poland.
It is a modular system built from 50 × 50 cm cabinets, not a classic coarse-pitch big screen. It works well with viewers at least 4 m away: on a square, in a car park or in front of a building. We treat permanent installations, for example on a façade, as a custom project after a site survey. For the 3–5 m band the configurator suggests ICON 2.9 Hybrid (IP65, 4,000 nits, on request), while ICON 2.6 works indoors only. The whole range is described on the FOS ICON LED screens page.
Free, no sign-up, PDF sheet. Settings: outdoor, viewer at 8 m, stands; the configurator picks ICON 3.9 IP, and you can adjust the dimensions to your needs.
Price a 6 × 3.5 m outdoor screenChoosing the model: viewing distance, brightness, ingress protection
Viewing distance determines the pitch, and the pitch determines the price per metre. Outdoors, the configurator limits the choice to IP65 cabinets.

| Model | Pitch | Viewing distance | Brightness | Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ICON 3.9 IP | 3.9 mm | from 4 m (FOS); in the configurator beyond 5 m | 4,500 nits | outdoor, IP65; main choice |
| ICON 2.9 Hybrid | 2.9 mm | 3–5 m in the configurator | 4,000 nits | outdoor and indoor, IP65; on request |
| ICON 2.6 | 2.6 mm | from 3 m (FOS) | 800 nits | indoor only, not for outdoor use |
Below 3 m the pixel grid becomes visible, because the finest outdoor pitch is 2.9 mm; we discuss such locations individually. Resolution depends on size: an ICON 3.9 IP cabinet has 128 × 128 px, so a 6 × 3.5 m screen has 1536 × 896 px, and Full HD (1920 × 1080) needs 7.5 × 4.5 m. For advertising viewed from a distance this is enough; prepare your graphics at the screen's resolution.
Brightness in sunlight and temperature range
- Brightness. ICON 3.9 IP: 4,500 nits, ICON 2.9 Hybrid: 4,000 nits. Adjustment in 256 steps lets you dim the screen after dark, and the processor has a light sensor connector (automatic brightness).
- Full sun. A screen on a sun-facing façade is a custom project; we assess brightness during the site survey.
- Temperature. The ICON series operates from −20 to +40 °C, and above 30 °C air conditioning is needed, so we discuss locations without shade or ventilation before ordering. Leave about 15 cm between the cabinets and the wall for cooling.
Structure and permanent installation
The cabinet measures 500 × 500 × 83 mm and weighs 8 kg, and its die-cast aluminium housing has rotating corner protectors. Four cabinets per m² means 32 kg of panels alone. They can be joined at angles from −5° to +5° (2.5° steps), so the screen can be slightly concave or convex.
- Ground-supported: a FOS LWS structure (2.11, 3.11 or 4.11 m) with a base and counterweight; an ICON screen must never be left free-standing, and the weights are bought separately. We select the structure and ballast after the site survey.
- Hung: columns of up to 20 cabinets (10 m) with a safety cable; we check the load capacity of the rigging points on site before ordering.
- Wall, roof, pole (permanent installation): a custom project. During the survey we check the load capacity of the ground or wall, service access and power points; wind is taken into account in the structural design.
Installation is carried out by qualified technicians, and the installation is inspected at least once a year. Before ordering, check with your local municipal office whether advertising rules apply at the location (e.g. a local landscape resolution or zoning plan).
Power and control
We design the power supply for maximum power: 600 W per m², i.e. about 2.6 A per m² at 230 V. A 6 × 3.5 m screen (21 m²) draws up to 12.6 kW. The cabinets accept 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz and must be earthed (resistance below 4 Ω); the connection is made by a licensed electrician.
The picture is driven by a NovaStar processor: the VX600 Pro (6 ports, up to 3.9 million pixels) handles an ICON 3.9 IP screen of roughly up to 58.5 m², and the VX1000 Pro (10 ports, up to 6.5 million pixels) up to 97.5 m². Inputs are HDMI, SDI and USB 3.0 (playback from a flash drive), and settings are retained after a power cut. An Ethernet cable under 120 m is enough to reach the screen; beyond that, fibre is used.

You are buying a system, not just panels. According to the configurator (ICON 3.9 IP, viewer at 8 m, stands; net prices from the VEX catalogue, 13 October 2026), a 4 × 2.5 m screen (10 m²) costs about 132,000 PLN net, and a 6 × 3.5 m screen (21 m², 84 cabinets plus 12 spares) about 251,000 PLN net. Cabinets account for between about 70% and nearly three quarters of the total. The complete set includes:
- Cabinets with spares: 5%, minimum 2 cabinets, topped up to a full case of 8, so a fault does not stop the screen.
- Structure: FOS LWS stands with a base.
- Power: a distribution box for 16 A circuits.
- Signal: NovaStar VX600 Pro processor.
- Flight cases: 8 cabinets each.
The site survey, installation and commissioning, data cabling, counterweights and delivery are priced separately. When comparing offers, check the pitch, brightness, IP rating, what the set includes, the warranty and service. More examples: How much does an LED screen cost.

Service and support: one partner from delivery to inspection
An LED screen is a system, not a stack of panels, so we take responsibility for all of it: selection, delivery, installation and service. The power supply, receiving card and HUB card form a replaceable 3-in-1 power box, the 250 × 250 mm modules are universal, and service is done from the front. The cabinets have a 2-year (24-month) manufacturer's warranty, after which we provide post-warranty service and replacement of individual modules. Installation and delivery are described on the LED screen installation page.
